I am writing on behalf of the Brussels Short Film Festival which will be held in Brussels from April 22nd to May 2nd 2020 for its 23rd edition.

BSFF has 3 official sections – International, National and Student – where short films compete for prizes with a total value of 45 000€. Every year about 330 short films from 80 different countries are programmed (in competitions & Off).

Since January 2018, the Brussels Short Film Festival has been recognised as an Oscars® qualifying film festival by the Academy. That’s means that the winners of the Great Prize of the International and the National competition will be eligible for consideration in the Animated Short Film/ Live Action Short Film category of the Academy Awards® which is a true opportunity for the films which participate in the competition.
